In a little less than two months, I will begin an adventure I’ve dreamt about since I was a kid: the opportunity to visit Norway, the country from which I draw a large part of my heritage—and my name.
I’ve heard so many things about the people, the sights, the unforgettable memories…and it would be an understatement to say I wasn’t pretty elated that I now get to form some memories of my own in this place that, in some ways I’ve never been fully able to appreciate, has for so long been a part of my blood and a constant presence in my family’s cultural identity.
I thought it prudent to record some of my thoughts and experiences in this blog, if for no other reason than to give me a chance to look back later on and remember what I learned and felt during this amazing trip. I hope it gives some of my friends and family the ability to read my stories, too, so that we can share them together.
Cheers!
